The Externally Focused Church Engagement

For churches that sense something is missing and are ready to find out what.

Most churches are organized to attract people. The programs, staff time, budgets, and weekend service are all pointed inward. And most pastors know that this wasn't the design.

After twenty-five years working with churches across North America, through the North American Mission Board, through Forge America, and through my own research and writing, I have developed a clear diagnostic eye for what keeps a church turned inward, and what it takes to begin turning outward. This isn't theory. It's pattern recognition built from hundreds of conversations with pastors, staff, church planters, and congregations who wanted something different but were not sure where to start. I offer two ways to work together.

The Missional Diagnostic

One day. One team. One prescription.

I come to your church, spend a day with your leadership team, and do a structured assessment of where you are; how your programs, budget, staff time, and community presence reflect your real missional posture (not the one in your vision statement). You walk away with a written report: what's working, what's holding you back, and a prioritized 90-day action plan you can start the following week. This is followed up with three hour-long video calls to provide ongoing support.

Investment: $3,500, plus travel.

The Missional Transformation Engagement

Six months. Sustained movement.

For leadership teams and churches who are ready to do more than diagnose, who want to shift the culture of their church over time. This is a six-month working relationship that begins with a one-day site visit. After the in-person meeting, we meet virtually every month as a team and work through a structured arc from paradigm shifts to strategy to practice. I'm available between sessions for the questions that come up in the real work.

Most churches that do this work don't simply change their programs. They change what they believe God is calling them to be and do in their context.

Investment: $6,000 for the six-month engagement, plus travel expenses.

Denominations & Networks

The Covocational Church Planting Engagement

For denominations and networks ready to take the Covocational reality seriously.

The fully funded church planter is no longer the default. For most of church history, and in most of the world today, church planting has been done by people who also work, who are incarnated in communities through their vocation. The Covocational planter isn't a budget compromise. Instead, it is an enormous missiological and financial advantage.

I wrote the book on this; literally. Covocational Church Planting came out of twenty years of working with planters who were navigating a dual-vocation life without a real formation framework to guide them. Many denominations and networks are now sending Covocational planters into the field without one.

I offer two ways to help change that.

The Covocational Intensive

One full day. A framework they can use.

I come to your denomination or network's gathering and work through the core Covocational framework with a group of planters, including the missiological and financial benefits, the theology of work, time architecture for dual-vocation life, building a Covo team, and using community engagement as a missional asset. Every planter creates a personal action plan.

Investment: $3,500 for a one-day intensive, plus travel.

The Covocational Formation Track

Six months. Formation infrastructure your network doesn't have to build from scratch.

For denominations and networks that desire a longer formational track for your cohort of Covocational planters that runs for six months, including monthly group calls, structured content, a peer accountability framework, and periodic check-ins with your network leadership.

At the end of the six-month cohort, you have a group of planters who have been genuinely formed, not just trained, for the Covocational life, and a track you can run again. This can be a stand-alone six-month process, or it can be a follow-up to a one-day Covocational intensive.

Investment: $6,000 for a six-month cohort.
